Meet Missy & Greg

Lake Erie Candy Company was founded in 2019 by Missy Bertges and Greg Fornalczyk, an Erie couple with a shared love of specialty candy and small-business ownership. While running a local retail shop, they searched for a candy that truly resembled the beach glass found along Lake Erie’s shoreline. When they could not find one, they decided to create it themselves.

The response to their handmade Beach Glass Candy was so strong that Missy and Greg sold their original store and devoted their full attention to growing Lake Erie Candy Company. What began with one distinctive confection has since expanded into hundreds of products, a storefront in Erie, and a growing community of retail and wholesale customers across the country.
